Reebok Toning Shoes Are A Flop

The Reebok shoe giant has just settled its ads contraversy dealing with its toning and shaping shoes. The FTC wants the customers to know that the shoe does not simply tone your legs by wearing them, but you have to do exercise with them. Reebok advertised the shoe as a device to tone your legs simply by wearing them, which is not the case. Reebok is now having to spend $25 million by paying back customers who feel dooped by the shoe company.

  1. Reebok is definitely paying the price of false advertisement, however, it needs to be more than just them if that's the case. Society revolves on false or over exaggerating an advertisement to attract consumers and increase sales. Though it is for profit, that is no excuse for false or "not the entire truth" information. On the other hand, I know some people are just claiming they were doped by Reebok just to get some money. People should know that their is no such thing as just putting some shoes on and magically becoming fit. If that were a real product, it would've been out by now. Everyone should know that true success in getting toned and in shape can only be obtained through hard work and dedication to that work. Society wants everything given to them on a silver platter without any labor but this will never be possible. One sentence in the ad about involving exercise with the shoes would've helped. I feel like it was an equal fault of the company and consumer that Reebok is now paying for.
